Innovators Row to Showcase Startups at Awards Gala – Applications Due April 30
The Charlottesville Business Innovation Council (CBIC) has issued a call to Central Virginia startups to participate in the annual CBIC Awards Gala. Now in its third year at the Gala, Innovators Row has become a popular feature where established tech community veterans can meet the young disruptors literally circling the entrance to the ceremony.
The 18th Annual CBIC Awards Gala will be held on Thursday, May 26. It will honor Central Virginia entrepreneurs, educators, and organizations that have contributed significantly to the region's innovation ecosystem. A video of last year's event is available here.
As many as 30 area tech-centric and innovation-based entrepreneurs and companies will have a chance to showcase their products and mingle with gala attendees.
Each participant selected for Innovators Row will be provided table space during the Gala's 90 minute pre-ceremony reception with opportunities to discuss their innovations with the assembled investors, entrepreneurs, educators, and business and civic leaders. About 400 technology and innovation movers and shakers are expected to attend this year's CBIC Awards Gala at the Boar's Head Inn.
Applications to be considered for participation in CBIC's Innovators Row are due by midnight April 30, 2016. There is no cost to apply. Participants selected are expected to pay $60 for exhibit space on Innovators Row and will need to purchase a gala ticket for each person who participates from their company. Gala tickets for qualifying startups and Innovators Row participants are available at below-cost pricing, thanks to the generosity of sponsors.
Selected companies will be notified on Monday, May 9, 2016, and promoted via CBIC's social media channels. Apply online here: http://tinyurl.com/2016InnovatorsRow.

"This annual gathering seeks to inspire and inform as well as to further the creation of a community where we celebrate each other's accomplishments and recognize individual contributions to our innovation-based ecosystem. The gala also encourages attendees to develop relationships that create a fertile future for growth and expansion."
