Who is guiding our
future innovators?

Recognize your favorite tech educator

Nominate them for a CBIC Gala Education Award.
Noms are due Jan 31.

CBIC's mission is to promote and support tech innovation and entrepreneurship in the Charlottesville region, keeping our organization in alignment with our local education community.

The CBIC Awards highlight and honor the region’s educators and students that best embody these attributes of innovation and entrepreneurial excellence. Our education awards, in particular, seek to bridge the innovative use of technology in the classroom with local businesses to foster collaboration and a sense of community.

Please consider nominating yourself or any of your colleagues for one of the two awards. Nominations for the CBIC Awards program begin early in the year in order to build a broad and diverse pool of nominees from the community at large, and to better identify potential nominees that are often off the radar.

Educator of the Year

Formerly the Red Apple Award, CBIC recognizes one K-12 educator who has set an example of incorporating the principles of innovation, entrepreneurship, invention, and/or technological achievement in a classroom setting. The CBIC Educator of the Year recipient receives a Technology in Education Grant award of $2,500 to be used on a technology investment of their choice for their classroom or students.

Student Entrepreneur of the Year

CBIC’s Student Entrepreneur of the Year recipient receives CBIC’s Student Entrepreneur Grant award of $1,000 to further their innovation-based business.
