Marketing Assistant & Bookkeeper

Segars Engineering is looking for an energetic and detail-oriented Marketing Assistant and Bookkeeper for our Charlottesville, VA office.

You will assist with the firm’s marketing and business development needs as part of a growing team of high tech professionals. Reporting directly to the firm’s partners, you will create and spruce up marketing materials, call on existing and potential clients (both on the phone and in person), attend trade shows and career fairs, take charge of the company’s website and assist in the preparation of proposals. You will be assigned to sales status and be eligible for a competitive commission on any new clients you bring in.

About 40 hours per month will be devoted to bookkeeping, which will involve inputting business financial information into QuickBooks, invoicing clients on a monthly basis, and producing weekly, mid-month, monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports. Additional admin duties will include answering phones, procuring office supplies, and limited HR and payroll responsibilities.

Job Requirements:

Proficiency with QuickBooks Software
Associates or Bachelor’s degree (Business degree preferred but not a requirement)
Outgoing personality
Detail-oriented nature
Qualifications considered ideal but not required:

Education or experience in design or architecture/engineering
Knowledge of accounting principles
